Overview
Inoh ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy
explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the
Inoh mobile application or web app (the "App"), our websites, or the
Inoh browser extension (the "Extension").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
-
Account information: such as your email address and
password when you create an account.
-
User content: any information you store in the App
(such as vocabulary decks and learning progress).
-
Usage information (websites and web app): only if
you accept the cookie banner, we collect the pages you visit, the
link or campaign that brought you to Inoh, your browser and device
type, your approximate location based on your IP address, and
recordings of how you use the pages, with anything you type hidden.
If you decline, none of this is collected. To change your choice,
clear the cookies for inoh.app and answer the banner again.
-
Usage information (iOS app): the screens you open,
when you open and leave the App, the App version, your device model
and iOS version, and your approximate location based on your IP
address. We use it only to understand how the App is used, never
for advertising, and we do not use Apple's advertising identifier.
To stop it, turn off Share usage data in the App's Settings.
-
Usage information (Obsidian plugin): while you are
signed in, once a day, that you opened the plugin and which version
you have, linked to your account. The plugin sends this to our
backend, which records it in PostHog. Nothing from your vault is
included.
2. How We Use Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide core app functionality
- Maintain and improve the App
- Understand how people find and use Inoh
3. Sharing of Information
We share information only with service providers needed to operate the
App:
-
Supabase (database, authentication, and storage)
-
PostHog (product analytics, including the usage
information above)
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising purposes.
4. Browser Extension
The Extension signs you into your Inoh account and highlights words
from your vocabulary deck on web pages you visit.
-
Stored locally in your browser: your account email,
an authentication token, and a cached copy of your deck. Signing out
removes them.
-
Transmitted: only requests to our backend
(Supabase) to sign you in, fetch your deck, and add words you
choose.
-
Never collected: the content of pages you visit,
your browsing history, or any analytics. All word matching happens
locally on your device; page text never leaves your browser.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed
to provide the App's services.
6. Deleting Your Data
You can request deletion of your account and stored data by emailing
us at:
tai@inoh.app
For more details, see our
Delete Account page.
7. Children's Privacy
Inoh is not intended for children under 13. We do not
knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method
of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
